Solokeys Solo2 Expansion Card
The Solokeys Solo2 Expansion Card is a community-designed 3D-printed expansion card that houses a Solokeys Solo 2 FIDO2 security key inside a Framework expansion card slot12. Designed by foosinn and published in October 2022, it allows the security key to be stored flush with the laptop chassis while remaining removable for use with other devices12.
Design
The card is a 3D-printed enclosure (OpenSCAD) that holds a Solokeys Solo 2 (Solo V2) USB security key12. The key fits completely within the expansion card slot, making it unobtrusive during transport while still being easy to pull out and plug into other devices1.
Unlike permanent internal mounting, the card allows the key to be removed without tools — it stays in the laptop during travel but can be taken out for authentication on other machines1.
