The CalDigit TS4 is a high-end Thunderbolt 4 docking station providing 98W of host charging, 2.5GbE Ethernet, dual 4K/6K or single 8K display support, SD/microSD readers, and an extensive set of USB ports. It is one of the most frequently recommended docks in the Framework community and is confirmed working nearly perfectly across multiple Framework laptops¹²³.

AMD multi-monitor limitation

AMD's USB4 controller (used in the FW13 Ryzen 7040/AI 300 and FW16) supports only a single DisplayPort tunnel. The TS4 relies on multiple DP tunnels to drive more than one monitor, so on AMD Frameworks it effectively supports one external display directly. For multi-monitor on AMD, use an MST-based dock (e.g. Dell WD22TB4 or the no-MST Plugable TBT4-UDZ) instead².

Power on the Framework 16

The TS4 supplies up to 98W. The FW16 ships a 180W adapter; with the discrete GPU + CPU under sustained load the battery will slowly discharge while docked. For iGPU-only use, 98W is more than adequate².
