ADT-Link UT3G USB4 eGPU Adapter

The ADT-Link UT3G is a bare-board USB4 eGPU adapter (no enclosure) built around the ASMedia ASM2464PD controller, which exposes a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot rather than the PCIe 3.0 x4 limit of older Thunderbolt controllers. It is ranked the fastest USB4 eGPU adapter on eGPU.io and is recommended by Framework community members as the best-performing USB4 option for AMD-based Frameworks123. Note: there is no enclosure or power delivery — you supply your own PSU and GPU.

Why it's faster than Thunderbolt eGPUs

Conventional Thunderbolt 3 eGPU enclosures use older Intel controllers limited to PCIe 3.0 x4 and yield only ~22–25 Gbps of usable PCIe bandwidth due to protocol overhead. The ASM2464PD's PCIe 4.0 x4 link can reach ~30.5 Gbps usable on a USB4v1 host like the Framework, a meaningful uplift for VRAM-heavy workloads3. (The UT4G is the newer sibling.)

:::warning[No power delivery — and AMD pairing advice

The UT3G has no host power delivery, so you must run the laptop's own charger alongside it. Community guidance specifically advises against buying conventional Thunderbolt eGPU enclosures for AMD USB4 devices in favor of this adapter, citing the performance hit and overpriced enclosures2.
