Framework Control
Framework Control is a lightweight control surface for Framework laptops, exposing a minimal local HTTP API and a modern web UI to monitor telemetry and tweak core platform settings. Developed by Kemal Ozturk (GitHub: ozturkkl), it provides fan control (auto/manual/curve), power management, charging controls, and LED Matrix support for Framework Laptop 13 and 16 models.
Framework Deck
Framework Deck is an open-source, all-in-one desktop companion application for Framework laptops, developed by community member ToySnail (GitHub: enkode). It evolved from the earlier Input Architect project — a keyboard and macropad configurator — into a unified tool that combines keyboard customization with real-time hardware telemetry, fan control, power management, battery health monitoring, and LED matrix editing.
Framework Embedded Controller GUI
Framework Embedded Controller GUI (fw-ec-gui) is a graphical interface for controlling the Framework Laptop 13's Embedded Controller (EC), developed by community member Yisroel Newmark (GitHub: boredom101). Written in Python with PySimpleGUI and tkinter, it provides a point-and-click interface for fan speed control, LED color selection, and battery charge limiting by wrapping DHowett's fw-ectool.
Framework Fan Control GNOME Extension
Framework Fan Control is a GNOME Shell extension that provides a convenient interface for controlling fan profiles on Framework laptops running fw-fanctrl. Developed by community member ghostdevv (GitHub: ghostdevv), it integrates into GNOME's quick settings panel to display real-time temperature and fan speed, switch between fan strategies, and pause/resume fan control.
Framework Hub
This project appears to be inactive. The last GitHub push was January 18, 2025, the last Patreon update was late January 2025, and the GitHub build has been broken since approximately March 2025. The creator has not responded to community inquiries since early 2025.
fw-fanctrl
fw-fanctrl is a Python CLI service for Linux that controls Framework Laptop fan speed according to a configurable speed/temperature curve. Developed by community member Jean (GitHub: TamtamHero), it was originally created in April 2022 to address the overly aggressive default fan behaviour on the Framework Laptop 13 Intel, which many users found too loud for light workloads.
YAFI — Yet Another Framework Interface
YAFI (Yet Another Framework Interface) is a cross-platform GUI application for interacting with the Framework Laptop Embedded Controller (EC). Created by Stephen Horvath (GitHub: Steve-Tech) and announced on the Framework Community forum on September 8, 2025, it provides fan control, LED brightness management, battery charge limiting, hardware monitoring, and system information — all without requiring beta BIOS versions, unsigned drivers, or command-line tools.
