Breadboard Card
The Breadboard Card (also called the MCU Dev Card) is a Tool Card from HW Media Lab LLC that carries a Seeed Studio XIAO module in a Framework Expansion Card form factor. Designed to work with the DockFrame modular USB-C hub or standalone via USB-C, it provides a development platform with breadboard-friendly 2.54 mm headers and a downstream USB-C port for prototyping.
budgetcan-fw CAN Bus Card
The budgetcan-fw CAN Bus Card is a community-designed 2x CAN bus expansion card based on the STM32F405 microcontroller and the budgetcan-fw platform. Created by mowoe, it provides two independent CAN interfaces in the Framework expansion card form factor, distinct from the existing Cananka CAN-bus card which uses a PIC18F25K80 and MCP2221A bridge.
FW16 PCIe x16 Expansion Bay
The FW16 PCIe x16 Expansion Bay is an open-source community hardware project by Ether-Nova that provides a fully powered PCIe x16 physical slot on a board designed to sit in the Framework Laptop 16's expansion bay shell. The slot provides x8 electrical (PCIe Gen 4) since the Framework 16 exposes a maximum of 8 PCIe lanes through its expansion bay interface, and can deliver up to 75W of power.
HDMI Capture Card
The HDMI Capture Card is an early-stage community project aiming to bring a native HDMI capture card into the Framework expansion card form factor. Created by TheUnproductive, the design is based on the HDMI2USB open-source platform and provides PCB design files for self-fabrication.
OSHE I2C/UART Card
The OSHE I2C/UART Card is a community-developed expansion card providing I2C and UART interfaces in the Framework expansion card form factor. Developed by the Open Source Hardware Enterprise (OSHE), a student team at Michigan Technological University, the card went through multiple design revisions over the 2025–2026 academic year and reached feature-complete status in April 2026.
